Swedish metalcore visionaries Imminence continue to unveil the world of their highly anticipated sixth studio album, Axis Mundi, due October 2 via Sumerian Records. The band has now released its latest single, “If Not Now, When,” accompanied by another cinematic music video that further expands the album’s growing narrative.
The new track showcases Imminence at their most dynamic, combining gritty guitars, haunting melodies and a distinct ’90s grunge-inspired atmosphere. While the band’s trademark heaviness remains at the core of the song, Eddie Berg’s signature violin takes a prominent role, creating a striking contrast between raw aggression and emotional vulnerability.
The accompanying video continues the visual storyline introduced with “The Sword That Never Bends” and expanded through “False Light.” Set against a dark medieval fantasy backdrop, the story follows an immortal knight condemned to wander endlessly in search of the one thing forever beyond his reach: death.
With each new chapter, the world of Axis Mundi becomes increasingly expansive, blurring the boundaries between myth, memory and the human condition.
Musically, the album continues Imminence’s approach of blending metalcore, orchestral grandeur, atmospheric rock and cinematic storytelling. Each release has revealed another side of the album’s sonic and visual identity.
Axis Mundi was self-produced by the band alongside longtime collaborator Henrik Udd, known for his work with Architects, Bring Me The Horizon and Dayseeker, with additional production from Drew Fulk, whose credits include Knocked Loose, Twenty One Pilots and HEALTH.
